The Annual Duck & Goose Calling Contest will be held on Sunday the 15th. General admission is $12/day. Those who pre-register pay $20 for all 3 days. Only in OC: Area Attractions Did You Say Food?: Boardwalk fries, crabcakes, caramel popcorn, pizza, steamed crabs, funnel cake, soft-serve ice cream, did we mention crabs?
The Boardwalk: Densely populated in the summer, the historic boardwalk is a big draw for all visitors to Ocean City. Ride your bike, take the tram, or walk the 3-mile-length of boardwalk. Enjoy arcades, pier rides or get an Old Time photo taken.
Golf, Golf, Golf: With over 15 picturesque and challenging golf courses, Ocean City lets you get your game on. And if the miniature variety is your thing, Ocean City is home to putt-putt courses all around Coastal Highway.
Assateague Island: Just eight miles from Ocean City, take a nature tour to get up close and personal with wild ponies walking the beach.
Chincoteague Island: For bird watching, Chincoteague is the place to be. Seabirds and shorebirds dot the landscape, perfect for catching in the lenses of your camera or binoculars.
Fenwick Island Lighthouse: Literally built on the Mason-Dixon line, this inactive lighthouse is still a beacon of interest for visitors.
Museums: The Antique Classic Car Museum, Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum, the Ocean City Historical Museum, and the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museums are just a few of the options for visitors to get a better feel for Ocean City’s history.
Activities Crabbing: When in season, crabbing is a fun (and mostly free!) activity for kids of all ages. Grab a hoop net (or bait cage), rope and some bait and you’re set!
Take a Hike: Stroll the beaches, dipping your toes in the sand and let the sound of the ocean lull you into a sense of relaxation, setting the mood for your vacation.
Let’s Go Fly a Kite: Take to the beach with your own kite, or watch as others do, making colorful aerial displays in the sky.
Sand Castles and Seashells: See what your imagination has in store for you and dig up something grand with just a bucket and a shovel. Or scourer the sand for a sea-made souvenir of your vacation.
Get Your Shopping Fix: Hit up boutique stores, the boardwalk, or the outlets to get that perfect souvenir, new piece of clothing or even delicious fudge!
Don’t forget the views… get up early to take in breathtaking sunrises or end your day right with a sunset on the bay.
